Frustrated with fund administration?

Your hedge fund might be out-growing your current administration processes.   Your first administrator helped you get started, but may not have the systems and experience to take you to the next level.  If you administer internally, you may simply be finding that you now have more strategic issues to address. 

Ask yourself if any of the following statements are true:  

  1. We currently have an administrator, but they are just an add-on business of our accounting firm or legal counsel.
  2. We have experienced issues regarding the timely delivery or accuracy of fund NAVs in the past 12 months.
  3. Now that we manage over $100 million, some of our institutional clients aren't comfortable with the fact we still administer our funds internally. 
  4. We are becoming distracted with new regulatory burdens and risk taking our eye off the ball when it comes to day-to-day administration.  
  5. Our CFO or Director of Operations currently manages the administration process and needs to free up time for more strategic projects.
  6. We'd like to outsource some, but not all of the administration function, and we'd like to take an incremental approach in doing so.
  7. Our current administrator is too big to spend time customizing their services for me.
  8. We find our current administrator's systems confusing and slow.  Clients aren't impressed either.
  9. Our admnistrator can value the most complex securities in the world, but my particular fund is much more straightforward.
  10. Our administrator's fees are too high in relation to the size of our funds.
